Mailing Address: Spare Space LLC, 5311 Rice Hollow Road, Greencastle, PA 17225, USA
1) Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways: (a) you provide it, (b) we collect it automatically, and (c) we receive it from service providers.
A. Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email, phone, password (stored as a hash), and profile details you choose to add.
- Host listing info: listing details (photos, rules, availability, pricing) and the Space location/address.
- Messages and support: messages between Users and communications with support.
- Reviews and content: reviews, ratings, and other content you post.
B. Identity and Listing Verification Information
To help prevent fraud and improve safety, we require identity verification for Users and additional verification for Hosts who list Spaces:
- Identity verification (ID): verification is handled through Stripe (including its identity verification services). Depending on how verification is performed, Stripe may collect and process ID documents and/or a selfie, and provide us verification results (for example, “verified” / “not verified” and related signals).
- Host property/control verification: Hosts may be required to submit documentation that reasonably shows they own or control the Space (examples: mortgage statement, utility bill, tax document, lease authorization, or similar). We use this to decide whether to approve a Listing.
C. Information We Collect Automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages/screens viewed, timestamps, referral URLs.
- Log and security data: error logs, performance data, and security-related events.
D. Payment Information
Payments and payouts are processed through Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers. We may receive limited payment-related information (for example: payment status, payout status, transaction IDs, and certain billing details needed for receipts, fraud prevention, and support).
